Samson Nsengiyumva is a highly accomplished investment and business professional with over 13 years of experience in program and project management. His expertise spans financial sector development, MSME growth, agricultural value chain financing, cooperative management, and private sector development. With a strong background in policy formulation, financial education, and strategic investment, he has collaborated with international organizations such as the UN, World Bank, USAID, and Swiss Cooperation. Fluent in English, French, and Kinyarwanda, Samson is known for his ability to design financial solutions, implement innovative strategies, and build capacity for sustainable economic development.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business and Economics with a major in Economics from Karlstad University, Sweden, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda. Throughout his career, Samson has worked extensively across East Africa and Sweden, applying his expertise to investment facilitation, financial inclusion, risk management, and entrepreneurship training. His work has contributed to the formulation of impactful policies, operational efficiency, and access to finance for SMEs, cooperatives, and agribusinesses.

Professionally, he has served in senior and leadership roles such as Investment and Finance Coordinator at RTI International (USAID-funded project), Managing Director at Finance International Centre, and Senior Consultant at Access to Finance Rwanda. His contributions to financial sector development include supporting microfinance institutions, SACCOs, and SMEs with tailored financial products, strategic planning, and compliance with global best practices. Samson has also been instrumental in promoting climate-smart financing, blended finance mechanisms, and gender-inclusive investment strategies.

Beyond his career, Samson is a certified financial education trainer (World Bank) and an expert in entrepreneurship and cooperative management. He has published research on interest rate volatility in Rwanda’s commercial banking sector and has actively contributed to knowledge-sharing initiatives. His affiliations include the Global Experts Network, Rwanda Family Initiative, and the Swedish Institute Alumni Network, further reinforcing his commitment to financial inclusion and economic development.
